splendor {past the limitations.}

i’m starting to get this sinking feeling that i’m wasting my life.
i’m constantly in this state of discontent.
as though i’m accomplishing nothing.

amongst the mess of my pity party,
i have forgotten how fortunate i am.
yet, i still struggle.

therefore today, i started “the happiness project.”
i know the book may not be from a christian point of view,
but that doesn’t make it wrong.
although, in the end i may come to find that the author + i will have some different opinions on what will truly make one happy.

but that’s what the book is all about.
in the end, you create your own happiness project.
everyone’s will vary.
however, all may learn to be grateful for an ordinary day.

which is exactly what i’m going to attempt to do.

confession session {memories + milk}

i'd like to think i don’t act my age all the time {in a good way.} i get kicks + giggles out of simple pleasures:: sleeping kittens, pastel//light//airy photography, period piece movies {pride + prejudice never gets old}, the smell of book stores, hidden critters on my water bottles, & now milk cartons!

hello, milla milk! this brand puts childhood confessions//misdemeanors on the carton, because let’s face it:: whether you just plain love milk, enjoy a nice chocolate mustache, or prefer a little with your cereal and//or oreo’s…milk creates a happy feeling!

{wish i knew where to shop for this stuff}::

can you tell i love milk?

twinkling lights + traveling show.

some good rules to follow at the fair::

#1 wear comfortable shoes + clothes. it's shocking what some people prance around in.
#2 people watch. preferably at night. now that's entertainment.
#3 try to eat more "real" food, than fried food. can't go wrong with turkey legs + grilled corn. yum!

#4 pineapple whip. get a quart + add some fruit {kiwi, strawberry, mango}. it's my new favorite fair food.

#5 go to the petting zoo. i don't care how old you are, do it. no worries, you can wash you're hands afterwards.

yay for adventures at the state fair!

confession session {::music::}

As many who know me {well}, you have heard my opinionated outcry of the {lack of} talent that comes in the form of {some} popular music. Ok, ok... I actually find myself enjoying most of what is considered to be such, but not just because everyone else says "OMG, it's so amaaaaaaaazing"...

So, when I tell you that I DO NOT like the hit show Glee or the musical stylings of Owl City, I am being completely truthful.

I find Glee to be a copycat version of High School Musical that takes awesome musical numbers and turns them into farce with crappy singing.

And Owl City... good gracious! Does every song have to sound EXACTLY alike???
the answer is:: yes.

Confession:: I now have "Don't Stop Believin' " sung by the Glee Cast and "The Bird and the Worm" by Owl City on my iphone...

guilty.

Don't expect me to be goin' out and buying the Owl City album or watching Glee anytime soon though....

{love} save the empty

I am not singling out nursing as a profession that is more difficult than others, but just a different level of difficulty I guess. But this little reminder helps I think::

Somewhere right now a nurse is helping a woman become a mother, holding the hand of a dying man, inserting an IV in a child, listening to an Alzheimer's patient tell a story and is missing their family while caring for yours. In the minute it took you to read this, nurses all over the world are saving lives. Re-post if you are a nurse, love a nurse, or appreciate a nurse.

Thanks Stormy for the reminder! love ya girl.

oh, hello {again}

Once again. From here on out, every time I pick up a Smart Water I will be checking the inside sticker for new little water-friendly critters.

It's the little thing in life.

{oh, hello there.}

I've {out-of-the-blue} become an avid SmartWater drinker. Not only is it the taste, but they contain a lot of water! This really tickled me pink though...

Eek! Who knew that these darling little pictures were on the inside of these bottles? And I'm sure there are more impossibly cute bottles out there I haven't even seen yet. It's exciting! So, consider this my environmental gesture.

Have a lovely week, ladies.

much love,

{avatar} kitten

Wow, waaay too long of a blog break! I must be working too much...

So, here's a random thought. After watching Avatar {and LOVING it by the way... totally Pocahontas meets Fern Gulley}, I discovered this:

Cats look like Avatars. Or vice versa. Or maybe it's just my cat... there's a resemblance.

Anyways, promise the blogs will be more frequent that way you don't have to listen to my ramblings.

love love love you guys!
